OH MY GOSH TOLSTOY!
I forgot to write about reading The Death of Ivan Ilyich by Leo Tolstoy, which was powerful, brief, and dark. Ilyich, the man who dies throughout the entire book, screams for three days straight at one point. His mouth is in the shape of an “O” for three days, screaming. His battles are everyone’s. His doubts and fears are ubiquitous. He is every person who dies....
