I’d like to lodge a complaint against the librarian at my local library because she if very mean.  She has the best job ever and can’t even muster the effort to smile or say hello.  All she does is yell, nag and ignore.  I wonder if she has ever even made a book recommendation or gone out of her way to encourage anyone in their reading.  If I could, I’d get her fired and take her job.  She is lazy and boring and I bet there are one thousand people who would take her job, ask for less money, and do a thousand times better work.

I just can’t stand that she doesn’t appreciate how lucky she is to work in a library, and I can not reconcile her version of a librarian with any I’ve encountered before.  All my life I’ve been helped by kind librarians; some have suggested wonderful material to me.  Even the librarians at my ginormous SUNY school were helpful in finding hidden books, looking up references and explaining processes to me.  Some have been a little literary-ily snobby but they still at least do their jobs.

If I were a librarian I would be so nice to everyone all the time.  Except loud cell-phone talkers, I’m not nice to them anywhere.
